Dining Halls and Serveries
There are twoÌýdiningÌýfacilitiesÌýat Â鶹ÊÓƵÔÚÏß¿´Ìý–ÌýStrachan Hall andÌýtheÌýButtery.ÌýStrachan Hall and the Buttery are open to the Trinity community. Patrons are able to use their Residence Meal Plan, Trinity Flex Dollars, debit or credit. Please note thatÌýbothÌýdining facilities are cashless operations. COVID Prevention and Precautions
While staff frequently clean high-touch surfaces, we encourage our community to continue to practice good hand-washing techniques and hygiene practices. Patrons areÌýrequiredÌýto:
FacilityÌýEntry
The dining halls are considered common spaces in the College.ÌýÌýÂ鶹ÊÓƵÔÚÏß¿´ must adhere to public health guidelines and posted signage when entering and while inside the dining halls and serveries.Ìý The entrance to Strachan Hall is through the south doors and the entrance to the Buttery is through the south–west doors of the Gerald Larkin building.
Seating in the Dining Hall
Seating in the dining facilities is limited. AdditionalÌýindoor seating is availableÌýin theÌýJunior Common RoomÌýand Divinity Common Room,ÌýandÌýadditional outdoor seatingÌý(weather dependent)Ìýwill also be available.
All furniture in these areasÌýshould remain in place and not be moved. AdditionalÌýcleaning and disinfecting measuresÌýareÌýin placeÌýin, adhering to public health guidelines.ÌýAs there is limited seating in the dining halls, patrons are asked to limit their time sitting at a table to 30 minutes.
Dietary Accommodations
Trinity Food ServicesÌýis currently able to accommodate students with a variety of dietary accommodations such as vegetarian and vegan diets, halal diets, lactose free/dairy free diet and made without gluten diet.ÌýThe diningÌýfacilitiesÌýareÌýnotÌýallergen free facilitiesÌýor kosher facilities. ForÌýpatrons with dietary accommodations, meal selection may be limited and/or may need to be pre-arranged. Individuals with life-threatening food allergies are expected to take the necessary precautions,Ìýincluding having an epi-pen on their person at all times within the dining hall.Ìý Anyone with dietary accommodation requirements, including food allergies, are encouraged to contact the Office of the Dean of Â鶹ÊÓƵÔÚÏß¿´ for more information (trinity.deanofstudents@utoronto.ca).
ÌýSelf-BussingÌý
AllÌýpatronsÌýare required to clear their tableÌýand depositÌýgarbage, recycling, food wasteÌýand soiledÌýdishesÌýtoÌýtheÌýdish returnÌýstation.ÌýIf student bring dishes, utensils or cups out ofÌýa dining facility, they will be required to return themÌýback to the dining facility or residenceÌýwaste management area.
Safety
Appropriate attire,Ìýcomprising of clothingÌýand footwear,Ìýmust always be worn in the dining halls and serveries.Ìý ActionsÌýwhich might jeopardize the safety ofÌýcommunity members isÌýnot permitted.ÌýRollerÌýblades and/or skatesÌýmay not be worn inÌýthe dining halls or serveries; skateboards,ÌýlongboardsÌýand bicycles are not permitted.
Animals
Animals (except for service animals) are not permitted inÌýthe dining hallsÌýor theÌýserveries.
Alcohol
Alcoholic beveragesÌýare not permitted in the dining halls or serveries, unless for special licensed events,Ìýwhich have beenÌýapproved by the Office of the Dean of Â鶹ÊÓƵÔÚÏß¿´.
Soliciting
Soliciting and canvassingÌýin theÌýdining hallÌýand at the dining hall’s entrance,Ìýmust be approved by the Office of the Dean of Â鶹ÊÓƵÔÚÏß¿´.
