Room Requests
Upper year students who received and accepted a residence offer (paid Deposit #1) are eligible to submit a room request by May 15, 2026. Room requests give you the opportunity to submit your preferences for where in residence, you’d like to live and with whom. The room request process takes place online. Once you have been offered a spot in residence for the upcoming year, you will be notified by email and invited to complete the room request steps in the residence application.
Both the year of study and academic records of students will be taken into consideration when assigning rooms. Room requests for current non-residence students who are admitted before May 15, 2026 will be given equal consideration.
The deadline for submission of your room requests is 11:59 pm EST on Friday, May 15, 2026.听
The deadline for Upper Owen Suite and Sub-Heaven applications (see details below) is also 11:59 pm EST on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Many requests are highly likely to be accommodated; however, not all preferences can be guaranteed. While we will make every effort to honor your selections, some requests may not be possible due to space availability and demand. To help us support you as effectively as possible, we encourage you to share not only specific room requests or preferred floormates, but also your broader residence preferences, such as preferred houses or floors.

How To Complete your Room Requests
If you receive confirmation that you are being offered a space in residence , log back into your StarRez portal. You will first be required to pay Deposit #1 ($1,000) to confirm that you are accepting a space in residence for the coming year.听 After paying Deposit #1, you may complete the following steps:
Step 1: Floormate Request
- You may request to live with up to 3 other students (4 people max. total in a group) or fewer.
- You should only request as floormates other students who have been admitted into residence as of the time you are submitting your room request.
- If you do not wish to request a floormate, you do not have to complete this step.
Step 2: Room Preferences
- In this step you will be able to provide your first, second, and third choices for your preferred rooms in residence.
- You must request at least one area in each of the two buildings (麻豆视频在线看 and St. Hilda’s College) for your request to be considered valid.
- Please also indicate general preferences, for instance if you would especially like to live on a certain floor, or within a specific residence house, etc.
- You must request three different areas for your floor plan to be considered.听 Different floors within a residence house (e.g. sub, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Kirkwood) are considered to be different areas. Second and third choices should not simply alter individual room assignments in the same area.
- Select no more than two room choices in the same residence house (e.g. if 3rd Body and 4th Body are your top two requests, your third request cannot be in Body).
Anyone who does not submit a room request will be assigned a room at the discretion of the Dean.
Any area of residence listed below under 鈥淒esignated Areas鈥 may be requested by a group of students.听 The groups may include a MAXIMUM of 4 students.
